The Wafer Camera was manufactured by the Thornton-Pickard Manufacturing Company from approximately 1908 to 1911. Compact snap shot folding camera that measures only 5 11/16 x 4 x 1 inch when closed and weighs 1 1/4 lbs. Made in quarter plate and post card sizes. Constructed of aluminum with fine grain leather black morocco leather covering and leather bellows. Fittings are finished in nickel and highly polished. Features include rising, falling and cross front with automatic locking device, infinity catch which locks the front at infinity focus, engraved focusing scale, ground glass focusing screen, and a reversible brilliant finder and spirit level. Fitted with a Thornon-Pickard eclipse shutter providing speeds of 1/25 to 1/100 of a second and a Beck double rapidplanat lens with iris diaphragm. Two models were produced. Model A is as described and Model B was the same but with a double extension bellows and rack and pinion focusing.
