The City hand camera was manufactured by the E & T Underwood company in circa 1898-99. Constructed of mahogany and covered in leather. A simple and reliable automatic changer was capable of processing 12 quarter plate sized glass plates housed in sheaths. The lens was an english made achromatic meniscus of fixed focus and the shutter of the fan type. The City camera was originally priced at £1 10s.
