  Salon Camera by E. & T. Underwood

The Salon studio camera was manufactured by the E & T Underwood company in circa 1898. Offered as a high class camera, specially designed for the requirements of pictorial photography, landscape work and equally adapted for technical work of the highest excellence. Constructed of polished mahogany and with a leather bellows. Features included a rising front, dual rack and pinion focus adjustment for single extension smooth operation, a rapid rectilinear lens with iris diaphragms and supplementary lens, and a time and instantaneous focal plane shutter, built in tri-pod mount. The back has vertical swing, lateral swing and reversible back for horizontal or vertical pictures, including a ground glass for focusing. The Salon camera was originally priced at £1 13s complete.
