The Umbra hand and stand camera was manufactured by the E & T Underwood company in circa 1898. Designed to meet the requirements of pictorial photography. Constructed of polished mahogany and with a good quality bellows. Features included a double rack and pinion extension focus adjustment, a hand operated roller blind shutter behind the lens, back ground glass for focusing and a removable lens board so that various lens may be used.
