  Series A Magazine Camera by Bullard

The Series A Magazine Camera was manufactured by the Bullard Camera Company in circa 1898. It was a well made magazine camera capable of capturing eighteen 4 x 5 inch exposures on glass plates that were housed in an aluminum sheaths. The Series A was also referred t as the "Regular Magazine Camera", in advertisements and brochures. It was fitted with a special Rapid rectilinear lens, Iris diaphragm, with a single valve Bullard automatic shutter with the bulb and hose arranged for time and adjustable instantaneous exposures form 1/100 of a second and up. A double valve would be supplied for the same price just for the asking. A feature of the Bullard shutter was that it was always set or self-setting. Additional features included a rising, falling and sliding front, reversible brilliant finder, special focusing scale and twelve plate carriers. McKeown's indicates that early models were made in Wheeling, West Virgina and are rare. It was priced at $16.00 in 1901.
