The Ottewill Registered Camera was manufactured by Thomas Ottewill in London England in circa 1853. This Ottewill Wet Plate camera had a unique collapsible design enabled by hinges, which allowed for the front and back panels to be removed, and placed on the baseboard. Thus allowing the camera to be folded into a flat package for carrying. This camera was one of the first cameras, if not the first, to address the desire for a portable camera.
