The Heliar camera was manufactured by Voigtlander & Sons company from approximately 1903 to 1920. This version early design provides a falling base board with self erecting direct view finder and double extension bellows with rack and pinion movement. It was upgraded with an improved focal plane, self capping shutter. Made in quarter plate or 9 x 12 cm. Constructed of light metal similar to the Metal folding camera. The 18cm Heliar lens has a 7 1/8 inch focus working at a full aperture of F4.5. priced at £16 10s . Also available with a cheaper Collinear II 15cm F5.4 lens. The camera measures 6 x 5 x 2 5/8 inches and weighs 2 lbs. 9 ozs without the camera.
