Dallmeyer's Naturalist Hand Camera was manufactured from approximately 1894 to 1901. In 1901 the improved naturalist hand camera was produced, and then in 1911 it was improved with a new design and the name changed to simply the Naturalist Camera. The Naturalist Hand Camera was designed specifically for telephoto-graphic work outdoors, like for capturing birds.
