  Dallmeyer's Long Focus Camera

J.H. Dallmeyer's Long Focus Camera was manufactured in circa 1900. Described as being designed to combine the convenience of the American types of folding cameras with the solidity and finish of the best English manufactures. Constructed of mahogany and covered in strong morocco leather of hard surface. Fine focusing is aided with a short rack and pinion mechanism. A scale for snap shot work is included and the back is reversible with metal doors for each vertical and horizontal position. A window on the rear baseboard allows for focusing when the camera is used as a hand camera with only the front extended. The bellows can extend over three times the longest side of the plate being used so that all types of telphoto lenses could be employed. It was originally priced at £6 12s 6d for the 5 x 4 inch size and £8 18s 6d for a half plate size.
