  No. 4 Syracuse camera by Wilkin-Welsh

The No. 4 Syracuse camera was manufactured by the Wilkin-Welsh Camera company in circa 1901. The No. 4 was described as being designed for those anxious to enjoy the pleasures of photography, but who wish to invest moderatelt at first. The no. 4 was capable of capturing clear pictures, 4 x 5 inch on glass plates. Constructed of wood and covered with seal grain keratol, a durable damp proof material equal to appearance to the best leather. It is made with two large brilliant oblong view finders conveniently placed to ensure the correct position of the views. The shutter is self setting and of simple and durable construction. Originally priced at $5.00, which included the camera, one double plate holder and a 32 page book on photography.
