  Cee-Ay Camera

The Cee-ay Camera was manufactured by the Candid Camera Corporation of America company from 1949 to 1950. It was designed by Leonard W. Gaki and had all of the features of the Perfex camera, including an automatic film transport, a coupled split image range finder, an exposure counter, and built-in synchronized flash through the Synchro-Alphax shutter. A unique feature of the Cee-ay was a focusing lever behind the lens on the left side of the camera providing adjustment from three feet to infinity. Fitted with a Wollensak F4.5 lens and Alphax shutter providing speeds from 1/25 to 1/150 of a second, T & B, the Cee-ay sold for $49.50. An optional upgraded a Wollensak f3.5 lens accompanied with a Alphax shutter providing speeds from 1/10 to 1/200 of a second sold for $59.50.
