  Dispatch Detective Camera

The Dispatch Detective Camera was manufactured by the London stereoscopic Company in circa 1890. Designed to represent more of a dispatch case and not a camera, in order to be a true detective camera. The wooden box was covered in dark green Russian leather and opens and shuts with an automatic lock. The lens shutter and slides are all contained inside the camera hidden from view. It was fitted with two finders for vertical and horizontal views. The instantaneous and time shutter provided speeds from one to 1/100th of a second by means of turning a small screw on the top and the focus is regulated for various distances by a button at the side.
