The Technical Camera, square model was designed by the London Stereoscopic Company in circa 1905 for those photographers needing a strong apparatus for hard wear and extreme tropical climates. Intended to be used for portraiture, architecture, landscape and telephoto work. Made in four sizes, a 6 1/2 x 4 3/4 inch, 8 1/2 x 6 1/2 inch whole plate, 10 x 8 inch and a 12 x 10 inch. Prices ranged from £10 15s to £19 10s. Optional hardware included a Black Band Rapid Rectilinear lens with iris diaphragm, a wide angle Goerz double Anastigmat series III lens, Thornton-Picakard instantaneous shutter, brass binding, and a three-fold tripod and a solid leather case.
