The Mars Detective camera was manufactured by Emil Wunsche in circa 1893. The camera is constructed of polished Mahogany with brass hardware. The Mars Detective camera was made in three sizes. Model No. 1 made 6 x 9 cm exposures on twelve plates, Model No. 2 made 9 x 12 cm exposures on twelve plates and Model No. 3 made 12 x 16 cm exposures on ten plates. It was fitted with a Aplanat f8 lens and had a built-in rotary shutter.
