The Coronet Plate Camera was one of the first cameras manufactured by the coronet camera company in circa 1929. It was advertised as toy camera for "every school boy and girl". Designed as a simple an inexpensive box camera for taking 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch glass dry plates. It was made of cardboard with chromium plated metal hardware and covered in a durable covering. This camera was fitted with a simple meniscus lens and rotary shutter. It housed a single ground glass view finder. The Coronet Plate Camera was sold as an outfit complete with plates, chemicals, printing frame and instruction book.
