The Plenax camera was manufactured by the Agfa company from 1935 to approximately 1941. Designed as a low cost folding bed roll film camera. This camera featured a reversible brilliant finder, tripod sockets, viewing windows, streamlined design and handy controls. Three lens options were available including an Antar f14, or a Tripar F11 or a Hypar F6.3 fitted in either a simple leaf shutter providing time, bulb and instantaneous or a the same shutter but with adjustable spped to 1/100 of a second. It was made in two sizes, a PB20 for capturing eight exposures 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 inch on no. 620 or PB20 roll film or a PD16 for capturing eight exposures 2 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch on no. 616 or PD16. Prices ranged from $10.50 to $16.50 depending on model and lens/shutter selection.
