  L.B. Outfit by Lonsdale Brothers

The L.B. camera outfit was manufactured by The Lonsdale Brothers in circa 1898. A well constructed practical camera constructed of Honduras mahogany, brass fittings hand finished and lacquered and equipped with a leather bellows. It featured front focusing adjustments via rack and pinion movement as depicted. It was fitted with a high quality achromatic f/8 lens and an adjustable shutter for speeds varying from 1/15 to 1/90th of a second. An aperture in the baseboard allowed the camera to fold without having to remove the shutter or lens. It was sold with a dark slide that had flexible hinges and automatic lock springs and a compact and rigid tripod. It was made in either a half plate for £4 4s or whole plate size selling for £6 6s..
