  New York Camera by Lonsdale Brothers

The New York camera outfit was manufactured by The Lonsdale Brothers in circa 1898. It was a very compact and well constructed camera constructed of Honduras mahogany, brass fittings and equipped with a double extension leather bellows. The New York camera was Also referred to as the No. 3 camera component kit, specially adapted for dealers desiring to manufacture on the premises. The wood work was cut and glued and every process requiring machinery and power was done by Lonsdale Brothers, so that dealers with spare hours can perform final assembly. It featured front and rear focus adjustments via rack and pinion movement. The large removable lens board would accommodate any size lens, sold separately. The cameras were sold with one book form slide. It was made in either a half plate selling for 60s or whole plate size selling for 82s 6d.
