The Hopalong Cassidy Candid camera was manufactured by Galter Products Co. of Chicago, Illinios in circa 1940s. The camera was constructed of bakelite plastic with a fix focus lens and simple snap shot shutter providing time and instantaneous exposure. It was described in advertisements as " the ideal camera for boys and girls. amazingly easy to operate". The camera was capable of capturing sixteen 1 5/8 x 1 1/4 inch exposures on standard no. 127 or A8 roll film. It featured a built-in eye level view finder. Individually packaged in colorful display carton. It retailed for $1.98 which included tax.
