The Scenex Candid Camera was manufactured by the Candid Camera Company of Dallas, Texas in circa 1951. It was a small simple to operate snap shot camera that sold for $1.00 or it was given away for free as a promotion for another product or service. It was advertised as "The Miracle Camera". The Scenex was made of plastic backlite with a ground glass lens and instantaneous shutter. It captured 25x25mm exposures on No. 828 roll film. There were various marketeers of this camera and the Earl Products Co. of Chicago IL, also marketed this camera with the name Scenex.

It was also marketed under the Cub name by American Advertising and Research Co.

The Snappy camera was the exact same camera as the Cub and Scenex, however it was marketed in England and stamped made in England.
