  Aeronautical Camera Model A

The Aeronautical Camera Model A was manufactured by the Thornton-Pickard company in circa 1926. The Thornton-Pickard company were pioneers in Aeronautical camera design and construction. The Model A was constructed of wood with reinforced brass strapping to withstand all climate conditions. It was fitted with a specially designed focal plane shutter with an adjustable aperture and spring tension. The shutter has a patented device which made it impossible to accidentally expose the sensitive plate. The back of the camera was fitted with a Mackenzie Wishart slide.
