  Ruby de Luxe Reflex

The Ruby de Luxe Reflex Camera was manufactured by the Thornton-Pickard Manufacturing Company in circa 1912. The camera was constructed of mahogany throughout, covered in fine seal-grained leather with all metal fittings black anodized, enameled or plated. The lens box and camera back is made of black ebonized wood. The focusing hood was made of stiffened leather. Fitted with a self capping time and instantaneous, Ruby focal plane shutter with auto stop and universal speed control. The focal plane shutter was capable of achieving exposure speeds from 1/10 to to 1/1000 of a second. An optional T-P patented time exposure valve provided spped settings of 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, and 3 seconds shutter speed. Fitted with a wide variety of lens. Available in many sizes including 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch, 4 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches quarter plate, 9 x 12 cm, 5 x 4 inch, 6 1/2 x 4 3/4 half plate, and 7 x 5 inches. Original prices for the camera only (no lens) ranged from £16 3s 6d to £32 7s 6d.
