  Ruby Roll Film No. 1a Camera

The Ruby Roll Film No. 1 Camera was manufactured by the Thornton-Pickard company in circa 1926. This camera was similar to the Ruby Roll Film No. 1 but made with a larger popular panel shaped exposure. It was capable of capturing exposures 4 1/4 inch by 2 1/4 inch. The body was constructed of stamped metal and covered in fine leather with black enameled or nickel plated hardware. It featured automatic spring stretcher arms, a reversible brilliant finder, a hinged easy loading spool arms and tripod socket. Various lens options were available. It was able to be fitted with a single achromatic or a Rapid rectilinear mounted in an Everset instantaneous shutter providing exposure speeds of 1/25, 1/50 and 1/100th of a second. It was also able to be fitted with a Ruby Anastigmat f7.7 or a Ruby Anastigmat f6.3 lens mounted in a shutter providing time, bulb, and instantaneous exposures of 1/5, 1/10, 1/25/ 1/50 and 1/100 of a second. It was priced from £2 17s to £4 15s.
