  Ruby Roll Film No. 3 Camera

The Ruby Roll Film No. 3 Camera was manufactured by the Thornton-Pickard company in circa 1926. This camera was capable of capturing exposures 4 1/4 inch by 3 1/4 inch (quarter plate size). The body was constructed of metal and covered in seal grained leather. The metal fixtures were finished with black enamel or nickel plate. It featured a reversible brilliant finder, an engraved focusing scale, register springs and a ruby window on the back, a hinged easy loading spool arms,leather handle and tripod socket. Various lens options were available. It was able to be fitted with a single achromatic or a Rapid rectilinear mounted in an Everset instantaneous shutter providing exposure speeds of 1/25, 1/50 and 1/100th of a second. It was also able to be fitted with a Ruby Anastigmat f7.7 or a Ruby Anastigmat f6 lens mounted in a shutter providing time, bulb, and instantaneous exposures of 1/5, 1/10, 1/25/ 1/50 and 1/100 of a second. It was priced from £4 to £7.
