The Model D-15, Folding Plateless, DAYDARK Camera was manufactured by the Daydark Specialty Company of St. Louis Mo. in circa 1910. The model D-15 street camera was similar to the B-W model but without the B-W attachment. It was capable of imprinting directly on five different sizes of postcards or tintypes including 1 3/4 x 2 1/2, 2 1/2 x 3 1/2, 3 x 4 1/2 or 3 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches and on 1 inch photo buttons. The D-15 featured the outside tank revolves and the tank cover is hinged, the card holder is reversible, the unit conviently folds up into a neat carrying box. The camera includes the latest improved adjustable focus and extra quick rectilinear lens called the Blitzen. It was mounted in instantaneous shutter with a wire push cord release or bulb and tube release. The lens is adjusted by pointing to a number that represents the focus distance to the camera for photos from 5 to 100 feet. The Blitzen was exclusive to daydark. The camera box was made of basswood covered with durable black seal grain Keratol. It included a solid leather carrying handle and the hardware was made from nickel plated. The camera originally sold for $37.00. The tripod, cards and photographic solutions were extra.
