The Durham camera was manufactured by the Marion & Co. of Soho Square London in circa 1903. The Durham camera was designed as a compact, light and quality camera with a very high rising front and a swing back worked by means of slots in the side of the camera. It featured a special swing front, which is automatically locked by a spring catch into a vertical position on the camera being opened. It was very compact and only measured 1 5/8 inch thick when closed. It was made in two sizes, a half plate and a whole plate.
