  Empire Studio Camera by Marion & Co.

The Empire Studio camera outfit was manufactured by the Marion & Co. of Soho Square London in circa 1898. This was a high quality studio camera made of well seasoned Spanish mahogany and brass bound to withstand climate changes. It was fitted with a long extension bellows with screw adjustment, double swing, double sliding front, reversible plate holder, and fitted with Voigtlanders Euryscope lens and Cadett's patent lightening shutter with pneumatic release. Teh outfit also include a superior folding tripod stand, velvet focusing cloth, solid leather case with lock, waterproof case for stand, three dozen Britannia dry plates, rocking developing tray, three glass trays, Marion's reflector lamp, Marion's registered automatic plate washer and drainer, bottle of Britannia developing solution, liquid ammonia, Alum, Hypo, two glass measures. All on a solid polished mahogany case, lined green baize with lock and key. This outfit was priced at £37 for a whole plate outfit. The 8 x 10 inch outfit sold for £45 and the 12 x 10 inch outfit sold for £55.
