The Metal Miniature camera, early original first version, was manufactured by the Marion & Co. of Soho Square London in circa 1884. The camera was constructed entirely in metal and fitted with an instantaneous shutter and Petzval type f5.6 5mm lens. It was capable of being carried in the pocket along with twelve slides. It was made in three sizes. The smallest provided a 1 1/4 inch square sized exposure, the next was capable of producing 2 x 2 inch sized exposures and the largest was for 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 inch exposures. The later version of the metal miniature camera was made with a square body.
