The Modern camera was manufactured by the Marion & Co. of Soho Square London in circa 1903. It was designed as a cheap stand camera selling for one guinea. It featured nearly all improvements found on higher class cameras, including focusing arrangements, wide angle movement, swing and reversible back, rising and falling front, built-in tripod turn tabel, etc. It was fitted with an achromatic lens and a time and instantaneous shutter. A two fold tripod was included in the purchase price. The camera was made in a quarter plate size and was constructed of polished mahogany with brass runners.
