The Swallow camera was manufactured by the Marion & Co. of Soho Square London in circa 1898. Several variations of the Swallow camera were made. The camera was constructed of a wood body with black leather covering. It was fitted with a doublet f8 lens with three iris diaphragm and an instantaneous shutter that has an adjustment for time exposures. The outside dimensions measured 8 1/4 x 7 x 4 inches and it weighed 4 pounds. It featured two view finders, an automatic exposure indicator, and had a handle on top of the camera. It was capable of holding twelve plates, 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch. The Swallow camera was priced at 21 shillings in 1898.
