The Makina III R was manufactured by the Plaubel company of of Frankfurt Germany from 1953 to 1960. This Makina version was similar to the Makina III except that it was equipped with a Compur-Rapid shutter. This camera was fitted with a 10 cm AntiComar 100mm f/2.9 lens or an AntiComar 100mm f/4.2 lens. It can also be found with optional telephoto lenses Tele-Makinar 100mm f4.8, or a rapid Weitwinkel Orthar 73mm f6.8.
