The Soho Dualex Camera was manufactured in circa 1930 by Kershaw and sold through Soho Ltd. of London. This Press type camera combined the needs of a press camera with those requiring the speed of a focal plane shutter and provided two exposure sizes. Through the use of an adapter it could accept single metal sheaths carrying 9 x 12 cm plates or it could be used as a 5 x 4 inch camera fitted with double block form slides for plates. The camera body was manufactured of well seasoned mahogany and covered with real leather. Teh front can be extended by means of two metal grips to a fixed point, supported by four metal struts providing extreme rigidity. It featured rising and cross front, a direct vision wire view finder, focusing screen and hood. The focal plane shutter provided speeds from 1/10 to 1/1000 of a second. The camera was priced at £18 10s 0d without a lens. Lens options included a Soho Anastigmat lens, Ross Expres lens, a Dallmeyer and Cooke Aviar Lens.
