The Cheapside Hand Camera was manufactured by John Piggott of London England, from approximately 1889 to 1907. It was an inexpensive camera with a magazine cartridge holding twelve metal sheathed plates that were changed automatically. It was fitted with a rapid view lens, iris diaphragm and a time and instantaneous shutter. It was priced at 26 shillings. An upgraded model was available fitted with a rapid rectilinear lens, iris diaphragms, focusing adjustment and a time and instantaneous shutter with hand and pneumatic release, priced at 55 shillings 6 dimes.
