The J.P. Hand Camera was manufactured by John Piggott of London England, in circa 1900. It featured an automatic magazine cartridge holding twelve metal sheathed plates that was released by sliding a catch on top of the camera, triggering an automatic indicator to record exposure. It was fitted with a rapid view lens, three magnifiers, an iris diaphragm and a time and an adjustable speed instantaneous shutter. A tipod socket was provided for stand work. It was priced at 42 shillings or if fitted with a rapid rectilinear lens 66 shillings, or with a focusing rapid rectilinear lens 88 shillings.
