The Velox Camera was manufactured by the Hurlbut Manufacturing Company of Belvidere, Illinois in circa 1890. Designed as a magazine detective camera accommodating 4 x 5 plates. It was described as simple, portable, best materials and ease of operation along with a slogan possibly taken from kodak of "Set the shutter, release the spring and Press the trigger". Unusual magazine operation did not require plate holders or slides. Plates were changed from field of focus alignment to storage by turning the camera over. Originally priced at $25.
