  Eli Camera


The Eli Camera was manufactured by the Hurlbut Manufacturing Company of Belvidere, Illinois in circa 1890. Designed as a detective camera accommodating 4 x 5 dry plates or cut film. It was described with the slogan "Eli" Camera - "It Gets There". This camera featured a rapid rectilinear lens, rapid shutter that is always set and a single view finder. It was constructed with wood and covered in real leather. Originally priced at $18.
