  Detrola Model E

The Detrola Model E was manufactured by the Detrola Corporation in Detroit, Michigan from circa 1938 to 1940. This camera was exactly like the Detrola Model D, except that it was fitted with a f3.5 Anastigmat lens corrected for color photography.

The Detrola Model D & E cameras were constructed of bakelite with a square chromium plated metal faceplate, chromium plated exposed metal parts, a built-in optical view finder and a bulit-in (Density type) exposure meter with a complete set of exposure charts. The camera was capable of capturing sixteen exposures on standard 8 exposure film no. 127 roll film for taking 1 5/8 inch by 2 1/2 inch negatives. The shutter was a Deltex Wollensak which provided instantaneous speeds from 1/25 to 1/200th of a second, along with time and bulb exposures. It also featured a micromatic focus adjustment, a set of 3 exposure calibrator discs, tripod mount and cable release. The Detrola Model E was originally priced at $19.50.
