The No. 1 Byview Half-plate Camera was manufactured by R. T. Adams & Co. located at of 573, 575, 577 Seven Sisters Rd., South Tottenham, London in circa 1899. The ByView Camera was named after their telephone address "Byview", London. It was sold as an out fit consisting of a half-plate no. 1 camera, a Periscopic lens with Iris diaphragms, a three fold Ash camera stand, double plate holder, a focusing cloth and a waterproof canvas bag. Priced to the trade at 38s 6d per outfit.
