The Wilco camera outfit was manufactured by the Wilby & Co. of Thornton Grove Works, Armley, Leeds in circa 1901. This camera was advertised as a 70 shilling half plate camera to compete with the other manufacturers on cost. It was made of highly polished well seasoned mahogany. It featured a rising and falling front, wide angle movement, a good rapid rectilinear, iris lens, and a Thornton-Pickard time and instantaneous shutter with speed indicator. The double extension bellows could extend to 17 inches. The outfit also included one double dark slide and a three fold ash tripod with automatic spring catch. It was made in three sizes, a quarter plate, a half plate and a whole plate. The same camera could be had with ebony binding at an extra cost.
