The Abbey Stand Camera was manufactured by McKellen, Ltd of Manchester in circa 1899. The camera could be adapted for taking half plate or stereoscopic pictures. Made of mahogany with rigid construction and highly finished. It features and exceptionally high rising front, tilt, and rear adjustments. The camera witout lenses sold for £5 5s complete with a double dark slide, turntable, tripod and McKEllen's patent triple-action stereo shutter with an extra board for for a single half-plate lens. Stereo rapid rectilinear lenses and half-plate lens were optional for an additional £2 2s.
