  Aires Automat

The Aires Automat twin lens reflex camera was manufactured by the Aires Camera Industries Company of Tokyo, Japan from approximately 1958 to 1962. The camera was capable of capturing 6x6cm exposures on standard no. 120 roll film. Features included FMS syncronization, reflex ground glass focusing, waist and eye-level viewing, automatic shutter cocking and film-wind crank,

The Aires Automat TLRs was normally fitted with an Olympus Zuiko or Coral f3.5 75mm lens. There was an option to fit a Nikkor lenses, in which case the price for these models can triple the value of the camera. The lens was mounted in a Seikosha MX shutter providing speeds from 1 to 1/500 of a second, plus bulb.


This camera was also sold and marketed by Sear Roebuck and Co. as the Tower Reflex.
