The Ansco Commander camera was sold by Ansco in circa 1956. Earlier models were made by AGfA prior to WWII. The Ansco Commander took eight 6 x 9cm exposures on standard roll film. It was fitted with an Afga Agnar f6.3 zone-focusing lens mounted in a Vario synchronized shutter providing speeds up to 1/200th of a second. The six piece Commander camera outfit came with the camera, a leather case, a synchronized flash unit, and three rolls of all weather film. The camera outfit was regularly priced at $45.64.
