The Ansco Standard Speedex camera was manufactured by Ansco of Binghamton, New York in circa 1950. The camera was constructed of all metal and covered in artificial black leather. It featured a fast coated F6.3 Ansco anastigmat 90mm lens in an Ansco shutter providing speeds of 1/25 to 1/100 of a second and time. The camera took twelve 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 inch square exposures on either black-and-white or color film no. 120 roll film. It also featured double exposure prevention, flash synchronization, and optical eye level finder. The Ansco Standard Speedex camera was priced around $39.50.
