  No. 1A Ansco Advanced

The No. 1A Ansco Advanced camera was made in Munich Germany by Agfa Camera Werks for Ansco of Binghamton, New York in circa 1926. The camerawas the same as the No. 1A Ansco Super Speedex except it was fitted with an Ansco Anastigmat f7.5 lens in a universal shutter. The camera was made of metal and covered in Persian morocco leather. It was capable of capturing 2 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch negatives on Ansco No. 6A or 6B speedex film or on kodak no. 116 film. The universal shutter provided speeds of 1, 1/2, 1/5, 1/10, 1/25/ 1/50 and 1/100th of a second, plus bulb and time. The No. 1A Ansco Advanced camera was priced around $30.00.
