  No. 3 & No. 3A Folding Buster Brown


The No. 3 and No. 3A Folding Buster Brown cameras were manufactured by Ansco in circa 1912 for the no. 3A and 1914 for the No. 3. The camera body was made out of wood and covered in seal grain imitation leather. The bellows were made of black leather and the metal parts were nickel plated. It was fitted with a fix-focus meniscus lens or a rapid rectilinear lens and a No. 1 Actus shutter providing instantaneous speeds of 1/25, 1/50 and 1/100th part of a second, plus time and bulb.

The No. 3 Folding Buster Brown took 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch negatives on Ansco no. 7A and 7B film or no. 118 Kodak film. It measured 2 x 4 1/2 x 8 1/8 and weighed 28 ounces. It was originally priced at $9.00.

The No. 3A Folding Buster Brown The took 3 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch negatives on Ansco no. 18A and 18B film or no. 122 Kodak film. It measured 2 1/2 x 4 3/4 x 9 3/4 and weighed 40 ounces. It was priced around $10.00.
