The Condor hand camera was manufactured by S.D. McKellen and introduced in 1900. It was a compact single lens reflex camera with its exterior conspicuously free from projections. The camera measured only 6 3/4 x 8 3/4 x 4 inches. The changing system was a modification of the well-known "infallible" introduced on the Infallible hand camera. It was able to take twelve quarter plates in sheaths. The condor only required a quarter turn of a circle to advance the movement. It was available in two versions. For 25 shillings it was supplied with a very simple shutter. An improved version with time and instantaneous shutter, diaphragms and morocco leather covering was available for 42 shillings.
