The Utitárs camera was manufactured by Gamma Optical Works in Budapest, Hungary and then by Fovarosi Finommechanikai Vallalat FFV, from approximately 1955 to 1962. It was a simple camera made of bakelite with an integrated direct eye-level view finder. Utitárs in Hungarian means "Traveling Companion". It was fitted with a Achromat f8 80mm lens made by Magyar Optikail Művek (MOM). The camera shutter provided a single 1/30th of a second instantaneous speed (M), plus bulb (T). It had three adjustable apertures f8, f11 and f16. The camera produced twelve 6x6cm exposures on standard 120 roll film.
