The Contaflex Prima was manufactured by Zeiss Ikon AG of Dresden, Germany from 1959 to 1965. A 35mm single lens reflex camera featuring a match needle exposure meter located on the side of the camera. The camera was based on the Contraflex Rapid. It was constructed of a metal body covered in leather with a satin chrome trim. The camera featured an eye-level through-the-lens prism view finder to see the image as the finished picture. It was fitted with a Pantar f2.8 45mm coated lens mounted in a Prontor shutter providing speeds ranging from 1 to 1/300th part of a second, plus bulb. Capable of accepting Pantar supplementary lenses. Stops ranged from 2.8 to 22.
