The Handy Box Camera was manufactured by the Swedish Industrial Camera company in circa 1947-48, who purchased the Gothenburg Camera Factory in Gothenburg, Sweden. The Handy box was based on the Mefag box camera. The Handy Box Camera was a simple box camera constructed of metal and covered in imitation leather. A decorative metal chrome and black face plate was fitted to the front with the camera name "Handy Box" written under the lens opening. It was capable of capturing 6 x 6cm negatives using standard no. 120 roll film. It featured a single view finder, a fixed focus meniscus lens, a fixed aperture, a single instantaneous shutter speed of approximately 1/50th of a second and a carrying handle.
