  Elgin Miniature Camera

The Elgin Miniature compact camera was manufactured by Elgin Laboratories of Chicago, Illinios in circa 1950. This was a candid type camera of similar design to many bakelite cameras produced in Chicago at this time. Referred to as being in the "Chicago Common" type cameras. Designed as a simple molded plastic bakelite camera with a metal faceplate. It was fitted with a fixed focus GRAFIENS 50mm lens and a simple single speed snap shot shutter. Capable of using any vest pockt size film for 1 5/8 x 2 1/2 inch exposures on standard roll film.
